Welcome to METAC
The Middle East Regional Technical Assistance Center (METAC) was established in October 2004 as a collaborative venture between the International Monetary Fund (IMF), member countries, and bilateral and multilateral development partners. The mission of METAC is to assist members in advancing public policies and institutions that enable inclusive and sustainable growth, so that living standards improve for all citizens.
METAC provides capacity development services in the areas of Banking Regulation and Supervision, Central Bank Operations, Public Financial Management, Revenue and Customs Administration, and Real Sector Statistics. Technical assistance and training activities are tailored to the needs of METAC’s 14 member countries. Regional workshops and webinars for member country officials are offered in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Arabic and French.

In December 2024, METAC celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a regional conference in Cairo, discussing Good Governance for Economic Resilience: Twenty Years of METAC Capacity Development in the Middle East and North Africa. Learn more about the event on the anniversary conference webpage.
