Mission

METAC aims to assist participating countries in strengthening their capacity for effective macroeconomic management and to support the region’s integration in the world economy. A key focus is providing targeted capacity building and advice to assist post-conflict countries restore macroeconomic stability and develop basic institutions for policy-making. By being located in Beirut, close to the countries that it serves, METAC provides several benefits including: decentralized delivery of technical assistance (TA) which allows for greater flexibility in responding to emerging needs, closer coordination with other TA providers, enhanced country ownership and accountability, more efficient and sustained assistance for regional integration initiatives, and more focused, subject-specific training for local officials.
