Nb of participants :17The workshop aimed to explain the main supervisory enhancements over the last few years, in particular the Basel III reforms in terms of liquidity and capital standards. The workshop discussed the challenges for implementing these reforms and the implications for banks and banking supervisors in the region. Some of the main topics that were presented during this workshop are: Basel III and the lessons learnt from the crisis; enhancing quality of capital under Basel III; assessment methodology and the additional loss absorbency requirement for global systemically important banks; liquidity risk management and measurement standards; macro-prudential tools and techniques; and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) as an essential prerequisite for Basel III. The workshop tackled the issues from a practical perspective through practical examples and case studies.
